Currently, I am a cable subscriber; and they just raised their prices, again. I am looking into the possibility of getting a DISH Network ViP722™ HD DVR and DISH Network programming. The acronym, HD DVR, is short for high-definition, digital video recorder. The ViP722 model is their newest and supports two televisions; one is high-definition and one standard-definition.

Some of the features include: 350 hours of standard-definition and up to 55 hours of HD programming; HD and SD output is simultaneous; expanded storage capacity; the ability to view and record HD over air digital3; two satellite tuners, so that you can select from single or duel mode; and it supports Dolby® 5.1 surround sound. Of course, I don’t really need all of the special features; but it sure would be nice!

Here’s great site to compare most of the latest DVR’s like DISH Network ViP722 HD DVR.

Right now I get my cable, Internet and telephone all from the same provider. The DISH Network ViP612™ HD DVR looks very tempting, and I am considering switching my television reception to DISH Network. I am going to compare the benefits and costs of both. I did some research on the Internet and discovered that the features of the ViP612 high-definition, digital video recorder that will record up to 200 hours of SD and up to 30 hours of HD programming.

The 612 supports one HDTV and has has an external hard drive2 in order for you to record and store tons of programs. Because it has two satellite tuners you can watch one program while you are recording another. You can also record two programs while watching one you already have recorded. Now that is worth the cost.

Here is a site that compares DISH HD DVR’s with DIRECT TV HD DVR’s.
